** NEW! After school ‘GCSE Art Top Up’ Workshops with Lizzie Pearmine! **

We are very excited to announce this new after school workshop, which we are starting in January.

Aimed at current Art and Textiles GCSE students, this class will be taught by Lizzie Pearmine, who teaches Art at Dulwich Prep and has also joined the bake and crafthouse team as a guest tutor.

Students will:

Work in a small group with other GCSE students in a creative environment acting as a great support network to generate quality work and hit those deadlines!

Receive one to one individual feedback and guidance driven by their projects and interests

Learn the art of sketch book development, see exemplar sketch books from previous student’s work

Work creatively with materials across a range of specialisms if they choose to, drawing, painting, print, 3D and Textile techniques

Classes will be limited to a maximum of 6 students to begin with. Classes can be booked in half term blocks, the first block will run for 4 weeks up to the half term break.

Cost: £120 for the first half term (equivalent to £30 per session). Thursday after School, 5.45-7.15pm

Any materials can be provided by yourselves, or chargeable as extra.

Teachers statement:

Having taught GCSE Art and Textiles for sixteen years working with two different exam boards along the way, I can appreciate the pressures and ever rising standards students are facing to reach the top grades, an Art subject certainly occupies hours of their spare time on top of juggling other GCSE subjects, this can be very daunting and isolating for a young person tying to keep up with deadlines. My tuition course here at the bake and crafthouse is designed to support students with their individual set themes weather they need to improve their course work assignments set by their school or the examination unit set by the examination boards.

I very much believe in teaching students to take ownership for their work, I would hope that each student completing the course will build in confidence and apply the skills they have picked up along the way to their continued hard work and future Art studies.
