** NEW! After school Clay Modelling Workshop with Emma Strange! **
We are super excited to announce this new after school workshop!
For school age children, this workshop will be taught by guest Tutor Emma Strange. Emma brings with her some wonderful skills and has a vast range of experience working with children from local schools.
We will be doing various clay based activities, having fun and exploring the basic skills used when working with clay. I provide structured activities for the children but also encourage their own creativity so we develop the ideas together and I help them to create their own mini masterpiece. This terms theme “Under the Sea” will give us the opportunity to explore an under water world of wonderful sea creatures real and imagined!
Working with air dried clay, there will be a combination of weekly projects and projects that run over several weeks. See below for examples of Emma’s work!
Classes for the spring term will be limited to 10 children and will only be able to run with a minimum of 6 children. Cost £12 per session per child, which includes the cost of materials, payble by half term only at £60 for 5 weeks.
Mondays, 4.30-5.30pm, starting 8 January 2018
Can’t make this class? Pop us an email, we are a compiling a list of those interested for future holiday workshops and occasional Saturday classes!
Emma studied Contemporary Furniture and Product Design BA and then worked in retail and lighting design before discovering clay, and falling in love with it! She started working with figure and portrait sculpture initially, and has then gone on to gain experience of teaching both adults and children, having worked at both Sissinghurst and Dulwich Prep schools.
